Doctor of Science Yailé Caballero, expert in Artificial Intelligence and director of International Relations at the University of Camagüey "Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz", was admitted to the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

The autonomous international organization was founded in 1983 by a group of scientists in Italy. It brings together 1000 scientists from about 70 countries. Its main objective is to promote scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development.

Caballero described the selection as "the greatest recognition I have received in my professional life". "It is a mix of emotion, surprise, pride, commitment and above all a great challenge. From now on I represent our country in the Academy of Sciences of the World, but I also represent Cuban women scientists", she stated, according to a publication on social media by the Camagüey university.

"It is also a reward for the work of the team of professors and students of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at UC, the members of the Camagüey-Ciego de Ávila Branch of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, my professors for the education they gave me, especially Dr. C. Rafael Bello Pérez", she added.
