Cuban urban music artist Payaso x Ley has earned a nomination for the 2026 Premios Juventud awards, one of the most prominent Spanish-language music honors in the United States. His track "Secreto (Remix)" is up for Best Urban Rhythmic Song, a category that also includes Spanish artists Nyno Vargas, Omar Montes and Ernesto Losa.
The Havana-born performer, who hails from the El Cerro neighborhood, announced the nomination on social media, saying he woke up to the news alongside his production team. He described the recognition as a milestone for his hometown, framing it as proof that an artist from El Cerro can reach an international stage.
Payaso x Ley built his following within Cuba's reparto scene, a fast-growing urban genre on the island, and drew wider attention earlier this year after blending operatic vocal styling into his music, a stylistic choice that generated significant discussion among fans and critics alike. "Secreto" became one of his most-streamed singles, helping fuel a touring run through Latin America.
Premios Juventud 2026 will be presented September 3 in Marbella, Spain, gathering nominees from across the Latin urban, pop and regional music scenes.
