Cuban Singer Frank Almaguer Wins Over Judges on Colombia's "Yo Me Llamo" with Pablo Alborán Tribute

Cuban singer-songwriter Frank Almaguer earned a strong ovation from the judging panel of the Colombian talent competition "Yo Me Llamo," broadcast on Caracol Televisión, after auditioning as an interpreter of Spanish singer Pablo Alborán during the show's eleventh season. Almaguer became the first contestant in the program's history to be approved as an official Alborán tribute act, according to the production.

His rendition of one of Alborán's romantic ballads drew a unanimous "yes" from all four judges, including actress and television personality Amparo Grisales, who said she had waited eleven seasons to see a convincing Alborán impersonator take the stage. The performance quickly circulated on social media, gathering hundreds of thousands of views within days.

Beyond the competition, Almaguer has also been building an independent musical career, releasing the single "Color Café" earlier this year, a stripped-down acoustic track that has drawn attention on streaming platforms. He has said he intends to keep developing his own artistic identity even as he continues competing in the Alborán category on the show.
