Cuban rowers Eduar Suárez and Reidy Cardona won the gold medal in the men's double sculls event at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, held at the Presa de Rincón rowing venue in Bonao, Dominican Republic. The Cuban pair crossed the line in 6 minutes, 32.80 seconds, finishing ahead of Mexico's Alexis López and Andre Sumsch, who took silver in 6:37.38.
Venezuela's José Guepe and César Amaris earned the bronze, while the host country's Ignacio Vásquez and Jancarlos Tineo placed fourth. The result added to a strong showing for Cuban rowing at the Santo Domingo Games, where the team collected multiple medals across sculling events during the competition.
The gold was among several won by the Cuban delegation in the days that followed, as the island's team continued to place near the top of the overall medal count at the XXV edition of the regional Games, which run from July 24 through August 8, 2026.
