Cuban radio announcer Guillermo "Guille" Rivero de la Rosa dies at 53

Cuban radio announcer and program director Guillermo "Guille" Rivero de la Rosa died on the night of Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Havana at the age of 53. The news was confirmed by close colleagues and by outlets in Cuba's public radio system, including Radio Reloj and Canal Caribe.

Born December 25, 1972, Rivero de la Rosa began his career in 1990 at Radio Cadena Habana and later worked at Radio Metropolitana, Radio Taíno and Radio Reloj. He also appeared on Cuban television and built a strong bond with listeners through shows such as Mezcla, De mañana and Cuba esta noche.

His remains were laid out on Monday, September 14, at the funeral home on Calzada and K in El Vedado, with burial scheduled for that afternoon. Colleagues and audiences highlighted his professionalism, his warmth with listeners and more than three decades devoted to the craft of radio announcing.
