Cuban singer-songwriter Eduardo Sosa continues to be reported in critical condition, with guarded prognosis, and without evidence of neurological improvement, the Hospital General Docente Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto reported this Friday, in the eastern province of Guantánamo.
The medical institution published on its Facebook social media account that the 52-year-old troubadour remains on ventilatory support and acute kidney failure has been added to the respiratory infection.
The Instituto Cubano de la Música announced that on the afternoon of February 3, Sosa suffered a hemorrhagic stroke following his participation in the Cruzada Teatral Guantánamo-Baracoa.
He was immediately treated by the neurosurgery service of Guantánamo hospital and the decision was made to perform emergency surgery. The operation, which took place on the morning of last Tuesday, was successful.
On social media and Cuban media outlets, there are abundant comments of encouragement and solidarity toward the beloved artist, born in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
