The Acosta Danza company, directed by leading Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, concluded its tour of the United Kingdom with an abundance of praise from specialized press and the public.
The show was titled Evolution and was valued as a celebration of life, culture, art and emotion that clearly demonstrated the excellence of the young dance company.
The choreographies Satori; Paysage, soudain, la nuit; Fauno and Rooster made up the show that, since last October, took place in the British nation in cities such as Norwich, Edinburgh, Birmingham and London.
On the production, journalist Eleanor Pringle in the Norwich newspaper Eastern Daily Press said that it was not made for the faint of heart but rather a spectacle to defy gravity, with art and beauty.
'This light and shadow is what makes this program a masterpiece, and it shows that Acosta and his company will not only continue evolving, but will do so wonderfully', she concluded.
Meanwhile, in the Concrete newspaper specialist Esther Smith referred to the piece Satori and the performance of dancer Zeleidy Crespo, whom she described as a goddess for the contortion of her arms and expression of movements.
'I left the theater amazed by the capabilities of the human body and delighted by how art can capture such universal expressions, even when they come from a company half a world away', she added.
For her part, dance critic Marian Kennedy on the performing arts specialized site London Theatre rated Carlos Acosta's performance in Rooster, by Christopher Bruce, as excellent.
'Seeing him dance as part of an ensemble offers the opportunity to analyze the details that distinguish him as an extraordinary dancer beyond the grand gestures, the perfect angle of his head and, in particular, the use of his hands, always so intelligent and beautiful', she stated.
The renowned newspaper The Guardian dedicated a segment to review the show of the artistic group, which will continue its performance at the Grand Theatre of the Villa of Luxembourg, on November 29 and 30.
