Injured Cuban diver is stable and was transferred to Hermanos Ameijeiras hospital

Cuban diver Luis Gustavo Cañabate Álvarez is in stable condition and this Monday was transferred from Juan Manuel Márquez Teaching Pediatric Hospital to Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital.

The 19-year-old young man, who last Saturday suffered an accident from a fall at the Esfaar Giraldo Córdova Cardín facilities, is in the intensive care unit of this last medical institution.

The Juan Manuel Márquez management reported that he will receive comprehensive care there for his better treatment and subsequent recovery.

The Institute of Sports Medicine (IMD) confirmed that this Tuesday a multidisciplinary team will be formed at the Ameijeiras for the care of the athlete.

His parents, who arrived from Camagüey, are already accompanying him and the sports authorities continue providing all necessary support.
