Cuban singer Cimafunk celebrated the first edition of CimaFest NOLA, a special event that took place this past weekend at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, USA, and brought the entire city dancing to Cuban rhythms.

From 9:00 p.m. (USA time), the audience enjoyed the artist along with other guests such as percussionists Pedrito Martínez and Brenda Navarrete. The "Afrocuban groove in New Orleans" as Cimafunk had previously assured was felt in the American city.

From his social media, Erik Iglesias Rodríguez shared some moments from the event, where he is seen with his customary theatricality on stage before an excited audience enjoying his authentic sounds.

"The first edition of CimaFest has just ended, thank you very much to all the people who participated, to all the artists who were there, thank you for being part of this such a lively event and thank you very much to my team. Thank you New Orleans for receiving us and having such a great time with us," said Cimafunk in the video posted on his profiles.

As he added, after this first experience the artist will not stop and will hold a second edition of the event next year, so he invited all his audience to stay tuned so they don't miss this musical celebration.

"Don't get distracted my people because the next edition comes next year, so get ready. Prepare yourselves because next year New Orleans is going to heat up. We love you my people," concluded Erik Iglesias.

CimaFest, announced weeks in advance, intended to "bring out the best of Cuban rhythms and traditions and infuse sounds and styles from Africa and the USA." Under this premise Cimafunk has created, according to the official event website, "something unique and special, not only in terms of music but also with the values it represents."

The artist "is redefining contemporary Cuban music, as well as Afro-Latin identity and the fusion of Black cultures," they added. Something that was undoubtedly demonstrated this past weekend in New Orleans and that, as Erik warned, will not stop.
