Cuban musician Cimafunk (Erik Alejandro Vera Rodríguez), born in Pinar del Río in 1993, is set to be one of the standout performers at the 2026 Festival International de Louisiane, taking place April 22–26 in Lafayette, Louisiana, marking the festival's 40th anniversary.
Alongside Stephen Marley and Rhiannon Giddens, Cimafunk is one of the headline artists at the festival, which is free to the public and is expected to draw over 300,000 attendees. On April 23, he will also perform at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, delivering his signature Afro-funk sound to two of Louisiana's most celebrated music events.
The New Orleans-based artist also revealed he is working on a new album in Miami with legendary producer Emilio Estefan, a collaboration that has generated considerable buzz among fans. A Grammy-nominated artist, Cimafunk continues to expand his international presence with a sound that fuses funk, rumba, blues, and Afro-Cuban traditions.
