Cimafunk is back in the news! This time his "nourishment" is for millions of Cubans celebrating his inclusion in YouTube's Black Voices program.

Launched in 2020, the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund is dedicated to highlighting the production of black creators on the platform. Its 2022 Class includes 53 members, including artists, musicians, and producers.

Over the next six months, the selected creators will be able to develop their catalogs and collaborate with other artists. In addition to receiving funding to develop their channels, workshops, and access to the company's networking programs.

To celebrate his inclusion in #YouTubeBlack Voices, Cimafunk wrote:

"Together with my brothers and sisters, 31 talented artists that are part of #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class, I celebrate our blackness and identity".

And in another of his posts, he commented:

"Always proud of my roots and happy to be part of #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class 2022. If you don't know where you come from… where are you going?"

Cimafunk, whose name is Erik Iglesias, unites Afro-Cuban and American trends in his music. Although he studied Medicine, music has always been his passion. And since he landed on the scene with Terapia in 2017, he has not stopped surprising.

About his most recent album, El alimento, he has said that the title responds to it being his spiritual nourishment during the pandemic. "It deals with the connection between spirit and body, and the importance of liberation, and loving oneself," he added.
