Chanel Terrero in First Place on Spain's Sales Chart

Cuban singer Chanel Terrero reached the number 1 position for the best-selling song in Spain with the original version of the musical theme "SloMo", with which she gave the European country third place at the Eurovision Festival.

Although the dancer, who became a Spanish national, had been climbing the rankings for weeks, this resounding success occurred just days after her performance at the renowned festival.

The official chart of the popular Spanish radio station Los 40 also places Chanel Terrero in the top position.

"SloMo", released on December 21, 2021 by the record label BMG Spain, is also found on the sales charts of countries such as the United Kingdom, Croatia, Greece, and Sweden.

The official music video for the song has almost five million views on YouTube. While the one from her Eurovision performance exceeds fourteen million.

By achieving third place at Eurovision on May 14, Spain was placed in a position the country had not reached since 1995.

The singer and dancer performed dressed as a bullfighter with her "SloMo", and achieved the best performance in 27 years for the Iberian nation: 459 total points, of which 228 points from the public vote and 231 awarded by the jury.

Chanel secured her place in this competition by winning the grand final of the Benidorm Fest. The contest was held on January 29, 2022 at El Palau de los Esports L'Illa de Benidorm.

Chanel Terrero was born in La Habana in 1991. As a child, she emigrated with her family to Spain where she began developing her career as an artist and singer at an early age.

She has participated in musicals such as El guardaespaldas, Flashdance, El rey león, and Mamma mia!. She has also acted in the films Robo de cererbo 2 and El rey de La Habana. In 2010 she danced with Colombian singer Shakira at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
