Renowned Cuban singer Alfredito Rodríguez recently shared on his social media a touching encounter in Miami with César Évora.

According to Alfredito's Facebook post, the reunion took place after more than thirty years without seeing each other and filled both artists with joy. "It was fortunate to run into this handsome fellow in Miami, a good actor and cool guy," expressed Rodríguez. He also shared a photograph that immortalized the moment.

During the pleasant conversation they had, they recounted anecdotes from their lives and careers so far. "We talked quite a bit, but, if it weren't for the fact that we had already planned another course, we would still be talking," admitted the artist.

Additionally, they had fun joking about the difficulties they had in exchanging their contact information through their mobile phones due to their poor technological skills. "We declared ourselves technological Neanderthals," said the singer jokingly.

Alfredito took the opportunity in the post to express his affection toward his countryman: "It brings me enormous pleasure to know that he is a famous and beloved artist. He deserves it. Another hug, and a bigger one, César Évora."

César Évora has enjoyed an extensive career in film, theater and television both in Cuba and in Mexico, where he has stood out as the lead in various telenovelas. Currently, he is part of the cast of the new Univision and Televisa telenovela Forgive Our Sins.

For his part, Alfredo Rodríguez began his professional artistic career in 1968 on Cuban television. A year later, he became the host of the popular program Good Afternoons, achieving prominence in Cuban media.

His repertoire covers genres of Cuban and international popular music, but focuses mainly on romantic songs. Throughout his career, Alfredito became one of Cuba's most popular singers, winning the Girasol award from Opina magazine for eight consecutive years.

He has also stood out in programs such as Tonight with Alfredo, Special Saturday and The Difference, in which he also served as director, writer and host.

Alfredito Rodríguez left Cuba 16 years ago and settled in Miami in 2012, where he has continued his career as a musician and television host in programs such as The Alfredo Rodríguez Show and In Family with Alfredo, broadcast by Radio and TV Martí, Radio Cadena Azul and Cubana de Televisión.

On November 10, 2019, Miami's mayor, Francis Suárez, declared that date as Alfredo Rodríguez Day, for his artistic and cultural contribution to that city.
