César Augusto Martí, Named First Master of Cuban Rum

March 3, 2021

The Movement of Cuban Rum Masters decided to promote its youngest member, César Augusto Martí Marcelo, to First Master; and they shared the reasons through the official Facebook account of Cuba Ron S. A.

"After years of developing excellent work in the Industry and his recent graduation as a Doctor of Sciences, our youngest Cuban Rum Master, César Augusto Martí Marcelo, was promoted by the Movement to First Master of Cuban Rum. Our pride and congratulations are with him!", the message states.

His contribution has not only been from the production itself of Cuban rums, but also from the written word, being the author of articles that reveal the life of Cuban rum, which he describes as unique and unrepeatable, highlighting Cubay Rums in an article that the Revista Excelencias has already published.

Cubay Rums
Unique and unrepeatable, of extraordinary flavor and delicate aroma, Cuban rum comes from sugar cane, which with its characteristic sweetness and its spirit, expressed in a magnificent brandy wisely aged, combined with the centuries-old secrets of Cuban Master Rum Makers, are the complement of this mythical creation.

Cuban by nature, Cubay Rum is the product of the richest and most genuine rum-making tradition of the central region of the country, which was born in the late nineteenth century in highly productive sugar cane zones, located in the lands of Sagua la Grande, to the north of the current province of Villa Clara, and in Cienfuegos. It was in these two places where brandy, spirits and rums were created that distinguished these lands from equivalent Cuban productions. Not only because of their organoleptic properties, but also because there were the results of an incipient industrialization, risky for its time.

These products were created in two large facilities: the still, which became known by the suggestive name Hell, located in the Villa del Undoso, Sagua la Grande; and the San Lino distillery, established in Cienfuegos...

Cubay Rums
Founded by First Master of Cuban Rum, José Pablo Navarro Campa, the Movement is made up of professionals of sensitivity and "custodians of a knowledge and culture that is not only ours, which is why we have the responsibility to preserve and develop it", as one of its members, First Master Juan Carlos González Delgado, expressed some time ago.
