Starting this month, the prestigious Cuban dancer and choreographer Carlos Acosta will assume the direction of the Royal Ballet of Birmingham, one of the three main companies in the United Kingdom.
Acosta will succeed David Bintintley, who was the artistic director of the renowned company for 25 years. In addition to the Royal Ballet, the legend of Cuban dance will direct the English National Ballet.
According to the dancer's statement, the news is gratifying for any artist who wishes to work in important venues. For Carlos, one of the possibilities he sees in the appointment is collaboration between both countries.
As for the Acosta Danza company, its creator clarified that nothing bad will happen, all projects will continue moving forward.
Since its stage debut, Acosta Danza has had the objective of conducting dance performances in full accordance with the most current notions being developed in the world, not only in terms of body movement but in everything related to the stage.
