Cantata by Silvio Rodríguez at Las Terrazas

In that community inserted in the mountainous ensemble Sierra del Rosario, there is expectation for the 109th concert of the wonderful Gira por los Barrios.

The rural tourist community of sustainable development Las Terrazas, belonging to the western province of Artemisa and located within the Sierra del Rosario, will be the setting at 18:00 hours on this February 28th for the 109th concert by Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez.

That lush urban complex spans an area of 5000 hectares and a population close to a thousand inhabitants, who will be able to enjoy the poetic and musical value of the creator of anthological compositions such as "Ojalá", "Hombre", "Canción del elegido", "Unicornio azul" and "El necio", among other recently created ones.

Through Silvio Rodríguez's blog, Zurrón del Aprendiz, we learned that in the community of Las Terrazas (about 75 km southwest of La Habana), the minstrel will be accompanied by the talented musical group made up of Niurka González, Jorge Aragón, Jorge Reyes, Oliver Valdés, Emilio Vega, Rachid López and Maykel Elizarde.

On this occasion the invited artist will be Havanan troubadour Fernando Bécquer.

The organizing team of the so-called Gira por los Barrios informed that the usual donation of books for children, adolescents and young people, is set from 17:00 hours until minutes before the cantata begins, in order to increase the titles of the school libraries in the area.
