Cuban singer Eduardo Antonio is now breathing on his own and recovering in a Miami hospital according to a statement published on social media.

"I am now breathing on my own, they removed my artificial respiration" the statement from Eduardo Antonio began saying.

"Thank you for all the nice things you have written to me, I will always keep you in my heart" said the singer.

Eduardo Antonio had to undergo emergency surgery due to diverticulitis and was in intensive care for two days with assisted breathing.

After the artificial respiration was removed, Cuban singer and actor Eduardo Antonio, also known as 'El divo de Placetas', thanked the prayers and good wishes of his followers during this health crisis.

Eduardo Antonio himself sent a message on Instagram talking about his health status. "I am now breathing on my own. They removed my artificial respiration. Thank you for all the nice things you have written and wished for me", expressed the artist. "I will always keep you in my heart".
