The Cuban feature film «Calle 232», directed by Rudy Mora, began its national theatrical run at Havana's Cine Yara on September 11, 2026. The movie, a co-production of ICAIC and Mexican company DMM Films, addresses the reality of caregivers, population aging and loneliness in later life, according to Prensa Latina and the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

The cast is led by Isabel Santos, Jorge Alí, Luis Ángel Batista and Chaveli Díaz, with supporting roles by Reytel Oro and Andrea Doimeadiós. The story follows a film director who, after an accident that limits his abilities, receives help from a young craftsman after being abandoned by relatives and friends. Mora wrote the screenplay and Adriana Moya produced.

At a special screening on 23rd and L, cast and crew members spoke with the audience. Isabel Santos has said the film touches a hard subject that many Cubans have lived through; Luis Ángel Batista and Chaveli Díaz described it as among the most demanding work of their careers. Jorge Alí, who lives in the United States, praised the technical and acting quality of the production.

«Calle 232» remains at the Yara through September 20, with Friday–Sunday shows at 5:00 p.m., then continues to theaters in other Cuban provinces. The film had previously premiered on the festival circuit at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.
