Yudit Vidal Faife

===BODY===
Recognized contemporary Cuban visual artist with national and international fame. She holds a degree in visual arts, with an emphasis on restoration and conservation of movable property, from the Instituto Superior de Arte of La Habana. For several years she has lived in the city of Trinidad, in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, where she has a studio and several socio-cultural projects with children.

Yudith's work, a graduate of the Trinidad Academy of Visual Arts, consists of establishing links that facilitate cultural exchange by correspondence with Cuban children and children from the rest of developing countries.

She completed her artistic studies at the Óscar Fernández Morera Professional School of Visual Arts in the city of Trinidad in 1998. Ten years later, that is, by 2008, she obtained her degree in visual arts, with an emphasis on restoration and conservation of movable property, from the Instituto Superior de Arte of La Habana. Currently she is an active member of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz and works in interior design.

Since 1997 she has participated in recognized collective exhibitions in Cuba such as: I Biennial of Visual Arts in Trinidad (2000), VI International Meeting of Painting Inter-Nos (2004) in Santiago de Cuba, where she received a distinction for donating her works to the State valued at 200 thousand dollars. She also participated in the IX International Biennial of Visual Arts (2006) in La Habana and worked on a project with artist Antoni Miralda called Sabores y lenguas (2006).

As for individual exhibitions, some include: Dípticos (2003), Entidades Míticas (2004), Transfiguración (2006) as part of the FIL of La Habana that year, and the most recent Seres de la diminuta inmensidad (2009). Furthermore, her works have traveled the world to countries such as: Ecuador, Países Bajos, Italy and France to mention a few. She has received important awards in Cuba such as the First Prize at Salón Triniarte 2003 and finalist at the Salón de Arte Erótico of La Habana, 2007.

She is a Trinidadian, Cuban artist, with the intention of making valid the ideas, knowledge, and intentions reflected in each of her works. She wishes to open the cognitive universe of the arts and perfect the craft. Since childhood she painted everything that presented itself before me, walls included.

She has no preferences with any specific technique. The idea always arises in the mind: this is primary; then she chooses in which technique it will be visually more functional, and that is when she chooses the one that best suits the message she wants to convey. Normally drawing is what stands out in number, which is one more way to practice the line daily, but she almost always mixes painting and drawing; engraving is more time-consuming, but sometimes she does one or another.

The exchange between different modes of expression at the international level is always a nourishing experience because it allows friction and confrontation with different idiosyncrasies.

In THE PATIENCE OF THE LISTENER, the technique is Mixed media on canvas, with dimensions of 92 x 82 cm. And it was made in 2004. In the painting, techniques of acrylic, charcoal and pastel are combined gradually on the fabric. The figure predominates through the force of thick lines that outline it, which allows the body to stand out above the drawing of the sunflower on which it sits. The character is an unreal being represented without hands, with two long legs and a pair of large trumpets that replace the ears. It represents the posture that humans adopt when they wish to have patience. It symbolizes the gift of those who possess the privilege of listening to others. The figure sits on a sunflower. The sunflower symbolizes the desire to find light and wait at the end of the daily path. This is based on the characteristic of this flower always searching for the sun's rays at all hours of the day. The work itself is a critique of human isolation in modern times. What pedagogical tools do you implement when teaching painting to children and young people in your country?

Her most valued works are: "Judith"-"Unbuttoning Myself"- "Sublime Rest"- "The Art of Looking at You"- "Elegant Portrait"- "Lunch in Decadence"- "The Virgin's Discontent"-"A City, a Street" – "Hair with Still Life"-" Tender Mother Among Insects" among others, and the prices at which they have been sold have ranged from 2,000 to 6,000 USD.

The next exhibition I have in mind will be in La Habana. I will bring to the capital premises my project "Seres de la diminuta inmensidad".

Her favorite color is Blue, she dances salsa and son. Miguel Angel is her favorite painter. She likes swimming.

"Seres de la Diminuta inmensidad" by Trinidadian visual artist Yudit Vidal Faife exhibition held at the Casa del Benemérito de las América Benito Juárez.

The exhibition consists of 13 works by the artist, inspired by children's paintings, 19 paintings made by the children themselves and 7 installations of almost 3 meters made between the artist and the children using the papier-mâché technique which was in turn taught to the children.

The exhibition has been the fruit of a project that for almost a year has been developing in Trinidad, in the Clodomira Acosta kindergarten, the only one located in the Historical center of the city.

This project has had as its fundamental objective the use of the creation process as a suitable teaching tool to correct certain negative traits in child development and to encourage the act of creation as a need for gestural-spiritual expression of the human being.

For this project she became worthy of the title of Ambassador of Peace, a distinction conferred for the first time to a Cuban native of the island by the Universal Circle of Ambassadors of Peace based in Switzerland and France. The distinction was received from the hands of its president Gabrielle Simoud, for the work carried out by the artist with the project Seres de la diminuta inmensidad.
