Yamila González Ferrer

She is Vice President of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba and Member of the National Committee of the Federation of Cuban Women. She coordinates the Justice Project in a Gender Key Guarantee of Equality between Women and Men, of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba, which received the ÚNETE Award from the United Nations System in Cuba in 2016.

She teaches Family Law, Gender and Law, Rights of Children and Adolescents, and Mediation at the Faculty of Law of the University of La Habana.

She is Vice President of the National Board of the Cuban Society of Civil and Family Law of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba, and Member of the Cuban Society of Procedural Law of that organization. She serves as Secretary of the Editorial Board of the Cuban Journal of Law and as a family mediator.

She has coordinated the editions of the International Conferences Woman, Gender and Law; and Family Law. She organizes the Diploma Program Mediation, Family and Gender of the Center for Women's Studies. Coordinator and professor of the postgraduate course Gender and Law of the Judicial School of the Supreme People's Court. She works as a legal collaborator for the National Center for Sexual Education and is a Member of its Working Commission on Transsexuality and Sexual Orientation, and Assisted Human Reproduction.

She has worked as a Consultant for UNFPA/UN-MINSAP in the Diagnostic on the Impact of Legislation and Policies on Adolescents' and Young People's Access to Information and Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Services in Cuba; and as a Member of the National Commission drafting the modifications to the Family Code.

She has represented Cuba at various international events, as well as at Sessions of the UN Commission on Human Rights, and other world organizations.
