Victor Gilí Méndez

===BODY===
He began his studies at the Provincial School of Ballet of La Habana and completed them at the National School of Ballet. Among his teachers are Ramona de Sáa, Loipa Araujo and Josefina Méndez.

Victor was lovingly conceived by the prima ballerina and maître, Josefina Méndez, and the distinguished dramatic actor Carlos Gilí (both now deceased), which is why he inherited from his mother, one of the four jewels of Cuban and universal ballet, the love of dance, and from his father, the love of acting.

Among his teachers are Ramona de Sáa, Loipa Araújo, Josefina Méndez, Joaquín Banegas, Orlando Salgado and Pablo Moré.

In 1991 he joined the cast of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, under the technical and artistic direction of Alicia Alonso, a company with which he has performed in different countries of Latin America, Europe and the United States. He has participated in the La Joven Guardia Workshop and in the International Practical Courses of the Cuban school of ballet (CUBALLET), held both in Cuba and abroad.

His repertoire includes leading roles in works of the great romantic-classical tradition, as well as contemporary choreographies by Cuban and foreign creators.
