Cuban economist, researcher, and consultant.
She is dedicated to researching feminist economics1 in her native country and the Nairobi strategies in statistics.
Among her notable publications are Economic and Social Panorama. Statistical Profile of Cuban Women at the Threshold of the 21st Century. C. Fernández García, National Office of Statistics, 2005, Women in Transit. Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, Havana, 2009.
Teresa Lara is a renowned scholar of gender issues in Cuba.
Since 1985 she has worked with statistics, thanks to her involvement with the study of the Nairobi Strategies. This led her to become involved in gender issues, particularly gender and economics, and within that, the economics of care.
She has worked on more than 10 research projects on these topics.
She is the author of the books "Training Manual for Women Entrepreneurs," as part of OXFAM projects and "Women Entrepreneurs," edited by CENESEX and SEMlac. Also "Women in Transit," with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) 2011.
