Artistic director, professor and choreographer of vast experience. Director par excellence of the internationally recognized Show del Carabet Tropicana.
Founding dancer of the Danza Contemporánea de Cuba company in 1959, of the Consejo Nacional de Cultura and the Teatro Nacional. He is a member of the Consejo Nacional of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) and Vice President of the Asociación de Directores Artísticos of the same.
He has achieved authenticity in dance through wisdom and talent in his work. His extensive experience, versatility and professionalism have allowed him to occupy an outstanding place within choreographic work in Cuba.
Works such as "El rey Cristóbal", "¿Quién le teme a Virginia Wolf?", "María Antonieta" and "Ochosi y el venado" demonstrate this. He is internationally recognized for directing successful shows presented by Carabet Tropicana, both in Cuba and in important artistic venues in other countries.
He has been awarded as Vanguardia Nacional. He holds the Raúl Gómez García Medals; the Distinción Por la Cultura Nacional and was awarded the Premio Nacional de Danza for the year 2006.
