Salvador Salazar Roig

===BODY===
He was born in Colón, Matanzas, Cuba. He was a professor at the Instituto de La Habana and at the Universidad de La Habana, where he taught History of Spanish Literature and Modern English, French and German Literature.

He gave lectures as a guest professor at Spanish cultural institutions and at North American universities.

He founded in 1927 the Cuban institution Pro Arte Dramático. He was a member of the National Academy of Arts and Letters, the Academy of History of Cuba, the Ateneo de la Habana, the Geographic Society of Cuba, the Economic Society of Friends of the Country and other national and foreign institutions.

He was imprisoned after having drafted in 1930 the manifesto of the university faculty October 10, 1950 against the government of Dictator Gerardo Machado.

He collaborated with numerous media outlets and was chief editor of:

La Revista de la Facultad de Artes y Ciencias.
He directed the magazine "Alma Cubana y La Novela Cubana", in which he published his comedies:
"By the Force of Love"
"The True Aristocracy".

Among his works are the book of verses Ternuras, dramas such as The True Aristocracy, The Other, et cetera.
