Rosa Cruz

She was born in the remote town of Regla in Ciudad de la Habana. From a very young age, she had a great inclination towards everything related to sports and art, so much so that she didn't know which to choose. She took workshops and courses in different areas such as drawing and dance, which she practiced extensively during her childhood, performing traditional dances from Cuba and other countries. She discovered singing when she was barely 11 years old, participating in school festivals where she studied, until little by little she came to participate in municipal festivals, without hardly planning it.

It was there that a music teacher suggested she enroll in singing school, saying she had the qualities for it, and she enrolled in the music conservatory of Guanabacoa, a town very close to where she lived. Once there, her interests continued to grow. She never studied guitar, but she felt a great inclination for it and wanted to learn to play it at all costs. A good friend gave her some basic methods to learn some chords, and from then on she travels with her guitar everywhere, playing it by ear, and it helps her compose songs.

Years later, she began to exercise singing as a professional, working for an artistic company called Antonio Mª Romeu and exchanging performances with some groups on the island.

Acquiring experience and learning from every job she did, she had the opportunity to learn percussion thanks to a group called OBBINI BATA.

She made her first international tour in 1996 to the island of Gran Canaria in Spain for 6 months, later returning to Cuba and traveling again, but this time to the peninsula, to Murcia, where she currently resides.

Since 2005 to the present, she has participated in the "VENAGUA ARTE SOLIDARIO" competition, organized by the Columbares Association of Murcia and financed by the Ministry of Labor and Immigration.

She has also collaborated in various galas of the Spanish Association against Cancer (aecc) and with the Murcian Association of women with breast cancer "AMIGA" since 2007 to the present.
