Roberto Riverón

Better known as Robertico, he is a Cuban humorist. He was born in the municipality of Banes in the province of Holguín, Cuba.

His repertoire consists, among others, mainly of "stand up comedy," distinguished by the improvisation and mental agility he displays in everyday experiences, family problems, work issues, and sexual matters. He has worked in theater, radio, film, television, and cabaret. He has brought Cuban humor to more than 15 countries and over 50 cities. He has been a winner of numerous awards within and outside of Cuba. He is currently a member of UNEAC. Famous phrase: "Good Night, Good Night, Good Night..."

As a child, he moved with his family to Punta Brava in the municipality of La Lisa, Havana, where he graduated as a lawyer and in the early 90s began his artistic career, venturing into the comedy genre.

Between 1994 and 2001, together with his colleague Carlucho, he formed the duo Los Bufomaníacos, breaking all the humorous schemes that had existed in the country up to that point. The duo, winner of several festivals and national awards with this project, carries out their first international tour through Medellín, Colombia.

As of 2001, Robertico continues as a soloist, visiting major cities in Latin America, Europe, and recently the United States, where he arrives with his first tour in 2011. His first tour in the U.S. is limited to the state of Florida. In 2012 he returns to the U.S., this time performing in Kentucky, Las Vegas, and New Jersey.

He believes he inherited the wit from his father, Guillermo, the town's joke teller, and remembers that since childhood, naturally, with his stories he made everyone laugh. Despite being considered by colleagues as a great actor equally in the dramatic field, Robertico has not hesitated for a moment in his inclination toward comedy. "A smile costs nothing and produces much," says Robertico, alluding to Gandhi's phrase, and he goes on: "A smile doesn't take away from those who give it nor saddens those who receive it."

Robertico's success is not limited only to his artistic career; he is also a successful businessman. He runs his own club in the city of Havana, where he also performs often when he is in the country. 3D Café, as the famous place is called, is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious clubs in the capital.

The demand for his show at an international level is proof that Robertico's show is not limited to Cuban audiences or those of Cuban descent, but can be enjoyed by any Spanish speaker.

In his personal life, the artist considers himself very different from what he is on stage. He describes himself as hyperactive, domineering, and very distrustful. He admires in human beings honesty, fidelity, and modesty. He does not tolerate lies. He is very demanding and perfectionist. Among the great figures of comedy, he respects and admires whom for him is the greatest of his country in the entire world, Guillermo Álvarez Guedes.

Although he believes that his greatest achievement has been to bring Cuban humor to so many places where it had never reached before and to succeed outside his native country, Cuba has been the cradle of his successful trajectory. The artist has stated that he would not abandon his country at this moment, especially when the country is facing a series of changes and openings that indicate a future of progress.

The famous comedian has managed to advance and establish himself through hard work and discipline. In the full stage of development and growth at an international level, Robertico already considers himself a fortunate man despite not yet having achieved all his professional goals and having a long road ahead.

Today he has his own YouTube channel, called Robertico Comediante, where he presents various content including interviews with Cuban personalities.

Robertico Comediante, as he prefers to be called, is one of those people who, without even realizing it, has an angel that makes him win the affection of many people. His art transcends Cuban borders to show that a laugh costs nothing and produces much.
