Orestes Destrade

Destrade has been the only baseball player to occupy the catcher position in the first three years of his debut, which he achieved with the Tokyo Giants in '90, the Hiroshima Carp in '91, and Yakult Swallows in '92.

He was born in Santiago de Cuba, he completed his secondary studies in Florida, where he made his baseball debut on September 11, 1987, and played his last game on May 24, 1994.

He made his Major League debut in 1987 with the Florida Marlins, and later was a first baseman for the New York Yankees.

After spending those years in the Japanese league, he became a sports broadcaster due to his facility with English, Japanese, and Spanish.
