Mario García Incháustegui

Died: December 4, 1977

He served as Ambassador of Cuba in Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, in Geneva before the United Nations Organization and International Organizations, and in New York as permanent delegate of Cuba to the United Nations.

Incháustegui was the first Cuban ambassador accredited in Malaysia. In addition to Permanent Representative to the United Nations, he was assigned important missions such as: Extraordinary Envoy and Plenipotentiary in Paraguay; Ambassador to the Republic of Uruguay; Ambassador to the Republic of Chile and was Ambassador to Japan and Malaysia at the time of his death.

Mario García Incháustegui, ambassador to Japan and Gladys Delgado Ortiz, his wife, died in a plane crash on December 4, 1977, when the aircraft in which they were traveling was hijacked while heading to Malaysia, where he was concurrent ambassador.
