Luis Enrique Vinent is a young Cuban amateur boxer from Santiago de Cuba competing in the 60-kilogram lightweight division. The current Cuban national champion in his weight class, he is considered one of the most promising talents in Cuban boxing in the current Olympic cycle.
Hailing from the boxing-rich province of Santiago de Cuba — home of legendary Cuban champions including two-time Olympic gold medalist Héctor Vinent — Luis Enrique burst onto the international scene at the 2025 World Amateur Boxing Championship in Liverpool, England, opening with a unanimous decision victory (5-0) over Croatia's Vide Prkacin. He also competed in a tournament in the Seychelles in November 2025.
His stated goal is to become Cuba's top representative in the 60-kilogram division and to medal at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. In May 2026, he claimed the silver medal at the Belgrade Winners International Boxing Tournament in Serbia, reaching the final before falling to Kazakhstan's Nurassyl Tulebek.
