Died: October 17, 2022
Juan Moreira is known for being the first Cuban painter to illustrate the novel Don Quixote of La Mancha in an edition for Cuba.
He was the assistant of Chilean painter José Venturelli in the creation of the murals of the Hotel Habana Libre and the buildings where the official Prensa Latina agency was founded, as well as creator of portraits of friends, ornamental designs, and paintings with erotic content. He was a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists.
Graduated in 1963 from the School of Fine Arts San Alejandro, where he later taught drawing classes, throughout his career he accumulated about twenty personal exhibitions and dozens of collective shows.
