Juan Antonio Molina Cuesta

Bachelor's degree in Art History from the Universidad de La Habana.

He was the coordinator of the XIII Photography Biennial. He also works as a professor at the Instituto Casa Lamm. He was a tutor at the 2007 Summer Residency at AAVI. He was a member of the curatorial team of the V Havana Biennial and curator of the Fototeca Nacional de Cuba.

He worked as a researcher at the Consejo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Hidalgo. He has been a professor at various institutions in Mexico and Cuba. Editor of Fisura: revista de literatura y arte.

His articles and critiques have been published in Alquimia, Art Nexus, Arte cubano, Atlántica Internacional de las Artes, C Photo Magazine (Ivory Press), Encuadre, Encuentro de la Cultura Cubana, Extracámara, Fisura, La Jornada Semanal, The Journal of Decorative and Propaganda Arts, Replicante, Revista de Estudios Interdisciplinarios de América Latina y el Caribe (Universidad de Tel Aviv), Luna Córnea and Tierra Adentro, among other specialized magazines.

For the last 15 years he has devoted himself to art criticism and research on contemporary photography. He currently works as an independent art critic.
