José Claro Fumero

Born in Matanzas. Composer, trombonist and instrumentalist. Student of Belgian Oscar Verweire, director of the Matanzas Music Band, who trained him on the euphonium.

He was part of the typical orchestra of Narciso Velasco. Later he was a member of the Orchestra of Aniceto Díaz and subsequently of the orchestra of Rafael Somavilla, father.

Author of the boleros: "My Love, My Faith and My Illusion", "That Woman"; of the conga "What About Me?", and of the works for band "A Toy", "Pass Silence" and "The Carabalíes", he composed some danzones.
