Cuban poet, literary critic, and novelist with an extensive bibliography, particularly in the field of poetry, where he garnered important accolades.
He was born in La Habana. He graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the Instituto Superior Politécnico "José Antonio Echevarría" in La Habana and obtained a Master's degree in Cultural Development from the Instituto Superior de Arte in La Habana. He distinguished himself in the area of Public Relations and Promotion at the Gran Teatro de La Habana.
He traveled to Spain in 1990 and gave several lectures and poetry readings. He spent two years in Romania studying and perfecting Romanian. He has received several literary awards in Cuba, including the "Razón de Ser" award for novel projects from the "Alejo Carpentier" Foundation.
He organized the "La Huella de España" Festival from 1995 to 2000, collaborating with the Spanish Embassy in Cuba, as well as the Colombian and Bolivian Culture Weeks, in collaboration with the Embassies of Colombia and Bolivia, and the Casa Silva de Bogotá.
He was a member of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC). His poetic works have been translated into Romanian, Portuguese, and Italian. His critical reviews on books, ballet, theater, and visual arts have been published in El Caimán Barbudo, Revolución y Cultura, Resonancias, Bohemia, Juventud Rebelde, Cartelera, Tribuna de La Habana, Vivarium, and Cuba en el Ballet.
For more than sixteen years, he worked as Director of Promotion and Public Relations at the Gran Teatro de La Habana.
