Isbel Herrera del Sol

International Chess Arbiter from Matanzas, professor at the University of Computer Sciences, Master of Science and Assistant Professor. He had 22 years of experience in Higher Education.

In 1997 he graduated as a Bachelor of Physical Culture from the University of Matanzas, and until 2003 he worked at this university as a Chess professor. From 2003 until his death he was President of the Honorary Chair of Chess Remberto Fernández at the University of Computer Sciences.

He was President of the Honorary Chair Remberto Fernández, at the University of Computer Sciences (UCI), Isbel was a man dedicated to chess, a sport that he loved. Enthusiastic in any role, knowledgeable about the Game of Science, he was a passionate lover of arbitration.

He collaborated in the celebration of hundreds of tournaments in the country, an activity in which he contributed all the wisdom that made him worthy of the International Organizer category awarded by Fide.

Furthermore, he dedicated special attention to university chess and created a circuit of competitions at the UCI headquarters. He carried with pride the responsibility of chess coordinator in the centers of higher education and did not rest before each challenge he set for himself.
