Isabelita
Recognized and admired announcer of Cuban Television and Radio. She is a first-rate announcer. The public recognizes and admires her for her clear voice and excellent diction.
Isabelita is a native of Sagua la Grande. Upon finishing pre-university studies, she enrolled at the University in the Philology program and later began teaching Spanish, but she recognizes that was not her future and only lasted one semester.
Her entry into the artistic world took place on April 9, 1983, when CMES, Radio Sagua, was founded in her hometown in the province of Villa Clara. When the radio station CMES was inaugurated in Sagua and a call for announcers was issued in Santa Clara, among 200 people who applied, she obtained a position. This is how her career as an announcer began. She was tasked with reading a statement at the inauguration of Sagua's radio station, which aired on the historic date of April 9.
The training enabled her to become, at only 19 years old, one of the first and few female announcers of that time. At this station she worked as a full-time announcer until 1984, when she moved to the city of Santa Clara.
On November 5, 1984, she began working as an announcer at Telecentro Cubanacán, of which she is a founder. She also produced some programs at CMHW, the provincial station of Santa Clara. But it was for a short time, as Telecentro assigned her a variety of key programs that occupied all her time.
The first television images transmitted from Villa Clara date from November 3, 1984. They remained on air for one hour. Isabel at that moment assumed the hosting of the magazine Meridiano 80, which presented diverse topics: music, culture in general, children's programming, and sports.
The most important program on Villa Clara television had her as host, the magazine Meridiano 80, which she hosted until 1992, when the program ended.
But her greatest effort was as host of the program En Casa, a Social Guidance program, with a variety of topics and attractions, aimed at the three central provinces: Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, and Cienfuegos. With this program she won several awards at the Telecentro Festivals, as well as the Best Announcement Award of this competition in 1992.
On February 6, 1997, she moved to the nation's capital, now married to also excellent announcer and journalist Boris Fuentes, and immediately made her debut on National Television on the National News in its third broadcast. She was also assigned as a substitute on the Evening News at eight o'clock. At the same time, she was incorporated into the program Hoy Mismo, with Héctor Rodríguez, a space broadcast Monday through Friday at 8:30 p.m., and in the programs Mientras llega la noche and En compañía de…
Since 2001 she has been the host of the Sunday News of Cuban Television, with one hour in duration. For her this has been the best professional experience: being chosen for a prime-time program. With immeasurable humility she thanks above all the people, who always compliment her on the street for her perfect diction and her pleasant delivery.
She has also done substitute work on the Evening News at eight o'clock.
