Hayna Gutiérrez

She began her studies at the Provincial Ballet School "Alejo Carpentier" in Havana and completed them at the National Ballet School in 1998, under the guidance of outstanding professors. During her time as a student, she earned important awards, including the Gold Medal and the Fine Arts Institution Prize (1993) and Silver Medal (1997) in the I, II and III International Ballet Student Competition, held in Havana. Her experience before beginning her professional career also included participation in Cultural Agreements with Mexico, at the Dance Chair "Alicia Alonso" in Spain, and at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.

In 1998 she joined the cast of the National Ballet of Cuba, under the technical and artistic direction of Alicia Alonso, with which she has visited several countries in America, Europe, and Asia. Her repertoire includes leading roles in works of the great romantic-classical tradition and other contemporary works by national and foreign creators.

Currently, since 2007, she resides in Miami, is part of the Ballet Clásico Cubano de Miami company as a prima ballerina, under the direction of Cuban Pedro Pablo Peña.
