Graciela Párraga Ponce de León

Composer, guitarist and singer from Havana. She was one of the presidents of the Liceo Lawn Tennis Club, an association founded in 1913 and considered the dean of associations founded by female initiative.

Born in Havana. Guitarist, composer and singer. Also a performer of piano and accordion. She received guitar lessons from professor Clara Romero de Nicola.

She performed as a singer accompanying herself with the guitar, and gave presentations in theater halls, television studios and radio stations in Havana and New York.

She made artistic tours through London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and the United States.

She died in the United States on October 7, 1971

Her artistic legacy has been embedded in national culture. Barbarito Diez performed some of her compositions. Many of the works in her catalog were used in American films. According to Cristóbal Díaz-Ayala, she had great success dubbing the voice of Rita Hayworth in the film Sangre y arena, based on a work by Spanish author Vicente Blasco Ibáñez.
