Francisca López Civeira

Prestigious and renowned historian from the University of Havana; with a recognized trajectory in teaching and an extensive body of published work in more than ten books and dozens of essays and articles in specialized national and foreign publications.

Among her various recognitions stand out the National History Prize (2008) and the Félix Varela Prize, Distinction for National Culture, the Alejo Carpentier Medal and the Frank País Order of second and first degrees. In 2022 she was awarded the National Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities.

Bachelor of History; Master's in Studies on Latin America, the Caribbean and Cuba and Doctor of Historical Sciences from the University of Havana. Full Professor.

Vice Dean of Research, International Relations and Graduate Programs of the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Havana since 2004.

She has delivered lectures by invitation from universities in Hungary and Spain, and participated in various scientific events in Cuba and abroad.
