Born in La Habana, Cuba. European Doctor from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature. He completed his undergraduate degree in Letters with Gold Honors at the Universidad de La Habana, homologated to the undergraduate degree in Hispanic Philology by the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Member of GRIAHAL (Interdisciplinary Research Group on Hispanic Antilles and Latin America/ CICC, Universidad de Cergy-Pontoise) since 2010 (https://griahal.free.fr); of CRICCAL (Interuniversity Research Group on the Cultural Fields of Latin America/ CRIAL, U. Paris 3) since 2009 (www.univ-paris3.fr/criccal); and of CiT (Body and Textuality/ U. Autónoma de Barcelona) since 2005 (https://cositextualitat.uab.cat/es). Between 2001 and 2003 he served as adjunct professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters at the Universidad de La Habana.
He has published a monograph on Whitman, co-edited two collective works, and has in preparation the publication of two critical editions on the sisters Luisa Pérez de Zambrana and Julia Pérez Montes de Oca, as well as a monograph on Pérez de Zambrana. He has participated in more than 30 international events as a speaker or lecturer.
He earned his doctorate in 2010 with the thesis titled The Construction of the Romantic Subject in the Poetry of Luisa Pérez de Zambrana, directed by Hervé Le Corre (U. de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3) and Meri Torras (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona).
Specialist in poetry theory, in Cuban, Latin American and Spanish literature (19th and 20th centuries), 19th century North American poetry, and in literature written by women. He has also dedicated himself to the study of the representation of the body in artistic discourses (19th and 20th centuries), and specifically in music.
