Outstanding singer for many years and lead voice of the Orquesta Aragón.
Ernesto is the son of the illustrious Rafael Bacallao Hernández, known as Felo, a singer, composer and stellar dancer, who for 34 years was the principal attraction of the sixty-year-old Orquesta Aragón and founder of the Orquesta Aragón.
Bacallao is the father of the popular singer Laritza Bacallao.
In 1993, following his father's traditions, he joined this great orchestra as a singer. He shares the stage with stars of international music such as Rubén Blades, Andy Montañez, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Tito Puente, among others.
Together with the Orquesta Aragón, he is nominated for Grammy Awards in 2001 and 2002. He participates in the record production "Cuba Canta a Serrat", nominated for Latin Grammy Awards in 2006. His name is in the Hall of Fame of Salsa in New York.
In Colombia in 1992 he received the Congo de Oro award in Barranquilla and in 2005 he received the Pablo Picasso medal awarded by UNESCO.
