Enrique del Risco Arrocha

Bachelor's degree in History, Universidad de La Habana, 1990 and Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from Nueva York University (N.Y.U.), 2005.

He has published several collections of short stories: Obras escogidas (La Habana, 1992), Pérdida y recuperación de la inocencia (La Habana, 1994), Lágrimas de cocodrilo (Cádiz, 1998), Leve Historia de Cuba (Los Ángeles, 2007) and ¿Qué pensarán de nosotros en Japón? (Sevilla, 2008) a work that earned him the V Ibero-American Prize for Short Stories Cortes de Cádiz.

He was co-editor of Pequeñas resistencias 4: Antología del Nuevo Cuento Norteamericano y Caribeño (Madrid, 2005).

His short stories have appeared in a dozen anthologies and his essays in the anthologies Guayaba Sweet: literatura cubana en Estados Unidos (Valencia, 2003), Todos los libros, el libro (Virginia, 2004) and Aldabonazo en Trocadero 162 (Valencia, 2008).

He regularly contributes essays and articles to various publications in Spain and the United States.

His works have been translated into English, German, and Polish.

He has written for theater, television, and film. He currently holds the position of lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Nueva York University (N.Y.U.). He resides in West New York, New Jersey.
