Danilo Avilés

===BODY===
He began composition studies with Argeliers León. Later he entered the National School of Art, where he took lessons with José Ardévol, and subsequently studied at the Higher Institute of Art under the guidance of José Loyola.

Among his works stand out "Mujer nueva" and "Tres Poemas mínimos", for Voice and Piano; "Dibujos", "Variaciones para Cuarteto de cuerdas", "Esa sangre en Las calles de Santiago" for soprano and orchestral ensemble; "Siento un bombo mamita" (for symphonic orchestra). He has also created music for children, vocal works, chamber works, and incidental music.

Clarinetist of the Theater and Dance Orchestra.

He has received awards for symphonic and chamber music in national competitions. Avilés's music has been performed in Mexico at the I Forum of Contemporary Music and in the Soviet Union, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Spain, and the United States.

Avilés has participated as a guest of the Union of Polish Composers at the Warsaw Autumn Festival as well as at the Berlin Spring Festival, Germany.

He has taught music theory to children at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. Avilés resides in the United States, where he composes and teaches music classes.
