He was born in Marianao, a city in Havana, his childhood was peaceful, always with family alongside his parents.

He completed primary education at the public school in his neighborhood and later attended Colegio La Salle de Marianao, where he finished his primary studies. He completed secondary education at Colegio La Salle del Vedado and upon finishing, he enrolled in Commerce at Academia Valmaña and English at Rabiña where he graduated as a professor in 1950.

In 1949 he began his musical studies at the Municipal Conservatory, today Amadeo Roldán where he graduated in 1963 with excellent grades; around the 1950s he began his professional performances as a solo vocalist on radio and television, and also during those years he married Concepción Rodríguez Rodríguez.

In 1954 he had won a prize as an amateur in the program Escuela de Televisión and was called to form a vocal ensemble with his wife, this group was directed by Adolfo Guzmán and performed at the cabarets Sans Souci, Montmatre and Habana Riviera in a production called Las mil y una noches and with which they traveled to Caracas, Venezuela.

On August 29, 1959 in the María Teresa Hall of the Amadeo Roldán Theater the presentation of Professor Dominicis's students took place and Daniel performed, earning praise for his baritone voice.

In 1961 he was called by the National Council of Culture to work as a soloist and debuted in November on the lyric stage in the first season of the Opera organized by the Revolutionary Government, supported by pianists Martha Bonachea and Luis Barbella.

On July 20, 1963 in the arts hall of the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory he offered his graduation recital and completed his studies at that educational center, subsequently perfecting his vocal technique with professors Ana Talmaceanu, Kivil Krastev and Iris Burget.

From then on he became a baritone with an extensive vocal range within Cuban lyric art, offering recitals in Havana and other provinces working with different symphonic orchestras and under the direction of prestigious maestros: Rodrigo Prats, Roberto Sánchez Ferrer, Félix Guerrero, Adolfo Guzmán, Reynold Álvarez Otero, Fabio Landa, Rubén Gómez Pírez, Rafael Somavilla Pedroso, among others.

After visiting Matanzas on several occasions as a concert performer in the 1960s, several people from Matanzas approached him to assess the possibility of receiving vocal lessons with which the city's lyric group was born, which was founded in 1968, and from that moment Daniel settled in the city of Matanzas to carry out his teaching work but without abandoning his work as a concert performer.

On March 19, 1969 Daniel directed the presentation of the lyric group in the White Hall where Israel Moliner (baritone), Luisa Alicia Cabrera (soprano), Alfonso Llorens (tenor), Rubén Gómez Pírez (pianist) performed and maestro Reynold Álvarez Otero conducted the orchestra.

Daniel was the founder and director of the Lyric Theater of Matanzas from 1969 to 1971. On January 8, 1971 in the presentation of the zarzuela Cecilia Valdés, Daniel played Leonardo under the general direction of Armando Soler (Cholito), with the Matanzas Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Reynold Álvarez Otero.

From November 12 to 14 of the same year Daniel together with Yolanda Hernández performed in a concert of works by maestro Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes, on January 20, 1973 he married again with Dora Jiménez Molina.

His last theater performance took place in 1979 at the García Lorca Theater alongside soprano Alina Sánchez in the Cuban zarzuela Amalia Batista by Rodrigo Prats.

He was a member of the Music Section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and Head of the Vocal Studies Chair of the Center for Cultural Advancement.
