Brigadier General of the Cuban Liberating Army. Also cited with the surnames Enamorado Cabrera.
He was born in Canapú, Oriente. Son of Major General Calixto García Íñiguez.
He entered the Liberating Army on March 6, 1895, joining as a soldier the forces of Major General Bartolomé Masó.
He was part of the Luz de Yara Infantry Regiment (1st Brigade 1st Division 2nd Corps). For his conduct in the Battle of Dos Ríos (May 19, 1895), where Major General José Martí fell, he was promoted to second lieutenant.
Two months later he distinguished himself in the Battle of Peralejo. He joined the invading column, with which he participated in the battles of La Reforma, Iguará, Mal Tiempo, La Colmena, El Desquite, La Antilla, Coliseo and Calimete. After the invasion was completed in Mantua, Pinar del Río (January 22, 1896), he was appointed chief of staff of the South Brigade of Havana (3rd Brigade 2nd Division 5th Corps), under the command of Colonel Juan Masó Parra.
In March 1896 he requested to be transferred to Oriente Province to fight alongside his father, who had landed on the 24th of that month. He participated in the Battle of Loma de Hierro and commanded a battalion in the attack on Guáimaro. For the attack on Las Tunas (August 28-30, 1897) he was appointed acting chief of the Vega Regiment (2nd Brigade 3rd Division 2nd Corps).
On December 21, 1897 he was appointed chief of the Las Tunas Infantry Regiment (2nd Brigade 3rd Division 2nd Corps). In 1898 he was promoted to chief of that same brigade, which operated throughout the Las Tunas region. He participated in the siege of Santiago de Cuba.

During the North American military intervention he served as inspector of the police of Havana (1899) and accountant of the fiscal zone of Matanzas (1900-1902).
Positions in Republican Life
During the Republic he held, successively, the following positions: consul in Montevideo (Uruguay), Genoa (Italy) and Hamburg (Germany), from 1902 to 1914; representative to the Chamber for Oriente, from 1914 to 1922; consul in Liverpool (England) and New Orleans (United States), from 1922 to 1928.
He died in the City of Havana on May 19, 1951.
