Asley González Montero

He participated in three Summer Olympic Games between 2008 and 2016, obtaining a silver medal at the London 2012 edition in the –90 kg category.​ At the Pan American Games he won two medals in 2011 and 2015.​

He won two medals at the World Judo Championship in 2011 and 2013, and five medals at the Pan American Judo Championship between 2011 and 2018.
​Asley González became 2013 World Champion in Rio de Janeiro for Cuba in the 90kg category and world bronze in 2011.

González was a finalist at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He won silver at the Pan American Games in 2015, took silver in 2013 in Paris 5 silver medals in 2015.

Asley won the Havana Grand Prix in 2016 and silver at the Zagreb Grand Prix in 2018.

Asley González (CUB) was number 1 in the IJF World Ranking for senior adults under 90 kg in 2013 and 2014. He switched to Romania in 2021.

In 2021 he became a Romanian citizen and began participating in international competitions under the Romanian flag.
