Antonio Bonifacio Alejo Alejo

Graduated from the Academia San Alejandro in 1941. He worked in other teaching spaces that broadened his artistic range: lapidary artist (diamond cutter), decorator, ornamental designer.

He has dedicated his life to the wonderful art of teaching. Co-founder, in 1948, of the Escuela de Artes Plásticas Leopoldo Romañach in Santa Clara. Professor of Painting and Drawing, as well as Art History at the Universidad Central Martha Abreu de Santa Clara; at San Alejandro, from 1966 to 1992, and at the Instituto Internacional de Periodismo José Martí.

For more than 50 years he has carried out meritorious work as an educator in the teaching of plastic arts in Cuba, for which he has been deserving of numerous awards and decorations.
