===BODY===
Prominent Cuban violinist. He was a professor at the Amadeo Roldán, Alejandro García Caturla conservatories and at the Instituto Superior de Arte. Founder of the Pro-Música duo where he remains currently.

He was born in La Habana. He began his studies at the Orbón and Amadeo Roldán Conservatories; he continued them at the Escuela Nacional de Arte with Radosvet Boyadjiev, with whom he completed in 1981 his degree in music at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

His father forced him to study piano. He forced him gently. He dreamed of being a civil aviation pilot. He found, through a Russian violinist who was in La Habana, Leonid Koghan, the true magic of the violin. Seeing that man play changed his life. From then on he started with the violin, even though he was already 11 years old and the normal age to begin is 7.

His life as an instrumentalist began with popular music. His first job was being a musical eccentric in the Moralito circus. Later he performed at the 1830 restaurant and at age 14 he was with the Sinfónica Nacional.

By age 16 he had explored popular music. Then he gave up everything and went to study at the Escuela Nacional de Arte. In 1972, with intermediate level, he later returned to the Sinfónica. Some time later he graduated in the first class of the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA). In 1986 he entered as a soloist at the Centro Nacional de Música de Concierto, a position he maintains currently.

Between 1972 and 1987 he worked as a violinist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, where he premiered:
Concierto para violín y orquesta by Leo Brouwer, 1978
Concierto para violín y orquesta by Julio Roloff, 1987
Concerto barroco (with violinist Evelio Tieles) by Manuel Enríquez, 1990

He was a professor at the Amadeo Roldán conservatory from 1972 to 1976 and Alejandro García Caturla from 1982 to 1984, and that same year, at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

He was a member of the Trío White, founded in 1978, and directed by Radosvet Boyadjiev, whose members were:
Alfredo Muñoz (violin)
Rodolfo Navarro (cello); later, Amparo del Riego
César López (piano); later, María Victoria del Collado

With María Victoria del Collado he founded the Pro-Música duo (which remains currently active). He has performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba. In 1991 he obtained the Gran Premio EGREM; Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones de Música.

Colombia, where he performed with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, directed by James Frazer, assistant director of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Filadelfia, Estados Unidos.

He performed with the Orquesta de Quito, where he also taught violin master classes.
