Recognized for his science fiction works. The literary influences of Agustín de Rojas in his work are mainly Bradbury and authors from the Soviet science fiction period such as brothers Arkadi and Borís Strugatsky, as well as Heinlein, Asimov and others outside the genre: Hammet, Dostoievski, Merimeé, Lovecraft, etc. The works that, according to him, prompted him to write were El viaje de Miguel Collazo and Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury. His work has served as inspiration to many of the current Cuban writers of the genre, who consider him a living Patron Saint.
