Cuban Betsy Remedios gave an electrifying performance on 'Got Talent' Spain with which she came close to earning the golden pass to the final, although she ultimately became a finalist through the public's vote.
The review in the Telecinco media outlet about the Cuban's performance indicates that she exceeded expectations and managed to convince one of the judges who had urged her to push herself.
"Betsy Remedios took the stage of 'Got talent' to showcase her powerful voice and delight with an opera number in the third semifinals. Risto Mejide gave her a 'no' and she transformed that to rehearse harder to show him and herself what she is capable of doing," said Telecinco.
Risto himself was pleased with Remedios' performance: "It is one of the most complicated areas, it is Mozart's latest opera, I think you chose very well this time, the difficulty is tremendous, with all my admiration for people like you. On the stage of 'Got talent' it is not what you say, it is what you do that makes you great".
Another who was left amazed was Edurne: "What a performance, what you did tonight is so complicated, so difficult. I had my mouth open the entire performance, I would give you the golden button tonight, without a doubt".
The rest of the judges Paula Echevarría and Dani Martínez gave the public the final word and the Cuban made it to the finals.
Cuban playwright Yunior García Aguilera, who was at the show, congratulated Betsy Remedios on his social networks.
"The Cuban Betsy Remedios impressed the audience and the jury of Got Talent Spain, performing the Queen of the Night in 'The Magic Flute' by Mozart. It was a great honor to accompany her and enjoy her performance and her voice, just a few meters from the stage," said García Aguilera.
According to the Cuban, the semifinal night "was a hurricane of emotions".
"Our Betsy almost obtained the Golden Pass, putting Risto and Edurne on their feet, the harshest judges of the competition. Finally, with the public's vote, she became a finalist and closed the show with a forceful standing ovation from the audience present. Bravo, Betsy! Talent transcends borders, it does not believe in colds, it grows under pressure and nerves. And you were born for this. Congratulations!", added Yunior García.
