This Sunday, April 3rd, the eagerly awaited Grammy Awards gala will take place and Cuba will be represented by singer, pianist, and composer Aymée Nuviola, to give us genres that have historically not been heard in the broadcast of these awards.
"It's an honor for me to finally be able to share with you that this Sunday, April 3rd, I will be singing at the @recordingacademy GRAMMYs on @cbstv!", the singer pointed out on her social media profiles.
In her third consecutive Grammy® nomination, Cuban singer-songwriter Aymée Nuviola will be one of the performers who will raise the Latin flag by making her presence known, with a special performance from the MGM in Las Vegas, performing a genre that has historically not been represented in the main broadcast of the Grammy® Awards.
"I feel very grateful to The Recording Academy for this special invitation, very honored to represent my Cuba, all Latinos, our music and culture with my art and my voice. See you this coming Sunday, live from Las Vegas! Glory to God!" – expressed Aymée Nuviola.
In another post, she added: "Being nominated is a true honor, but being able to sing at the GRAMMYs is a dream come true. I give thanks to God, to my team and, of course, to the Recording Academy for this incredible opportunity! It's a performance you won't want to miss!"
The Cuban singer-songwriter is nominated for the fourth time at these awards, for her most recent production "Sin Salsa No Hay Paraíso", in the category of 'Best Tropical Latin Album'.
Nuviola received her first Grammy in 2020 in the same 'Best Tropical Latin Album' category for her work "A Journey Through Cuban Music". For the past consecutive years, Aymée has been nominated for productions made under the Top Stop Music record label.
This year, the Recording Academy has added artists to the Annual Grammy Awards Presentation, such as J Balvin with Maria Becerra, John Legend, Silk Sonic, and Carrie Underwood.
In the case of Maverick City Music, Aymée Nuviola, and Billy Strings, they will perform in special segments, with genres not typical in the live broadcast.
From the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and hosted by Trevor Noah, the 64th Annual Presentation will air live on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 at 5 p.m. PT on CBS Television Network and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
